Exeger and Hama bring self-charging innovation to market: new solar-powered accessories now available in stores

Monheim & Stockholm, 3 September 2025 – Swedish Exeger, creator of the solar cell technology Powerfoyle™, and German Hama present their first jointly developed solar-powered accessories. The products are now available in stores across Europe and are on show at IFA Berlin 2025, hall 4.2, stand 145.

The new products integrate Powerfoyle into Hama's range and mean that remote controls, for example, can be charged continuously by both indoor and outdoor light. Users no longer need to change batteries, and get longer product life and greater convenience.

“By combining Exeger's solar innovation with Hama's strong retail presence, we are making self-charging products available to millions of consumers,” says Georgios Foufas, CCO at Exeger.
“Customers want accessories that make everyday life easier while meeting sustainability goals. With Powerfoyle we can now offer products that charge themselves wherever you are,” adds Bastian Strommer, Head of Product for Consumer Electronics at Hama.

Benefits:
• Solar power: Charges from all light sources – both natural and artificial.
• Sustainability: Reduces the need for disposable batteries and thus electronic waste.
• Convenience: Stays charged as long as it is exposed to light and is always ready to use.

Exeger develops the flexible solar cell technology Powerfoyle, which can be integrated into a wide range of electronic products. Hama, founded in 1923, is a global accessories supplier with around 4,000 employees worldwide and a broad range covering everything from smartphones and smart homes to photo and audio.
