Construction contracts in civil engineering and infrastructure

Sveab carries out civil engineering contracts primarily for public-sector clients such as municipalities, municipally owned companies, the Swedish Transport Administration and Swedavia, and also performs work for private-sector clients, often as a subcontractor on publicly funded projects. Sveab works across all forms of contract, from execution contracts to design-and-build and partnering contracts. Parts of the business operate under framework agreements, including for waterworks and wastewater treatment plants and for several municipalities in Stockholm.

Four business areas

Civil Engineering carries out water and sewerage, groundwork, land development, foundation and civil engineering structure projects, with operations concentrated in the Mälardalen region. Infrastructure specialises in large and complex infrastructure projects involving concrete structures, buildings and structural frames, as well as projects in trackside environments, with particular expertise in cast-in-place concrete and civil engineering projects in marine environments.

Industry operates through the subsidiary Sveab Materialförädling AB, which, with a focus on the circular economy, crushes and recycles materials at its own facility in Brottby outside Stockholm. Machinery comprises Sveab Järnväg AB and its subsidiary Sveab Maskin AB and focuses on railway contracts in trackside environments, with a fleet of rail-mounted machinery approved for Trafikverket’s facilities. Sveab Maskin also rents out construction machinery to other operators.
