Dirac announces that AudioControl's new Hyperion series for luxury home cinema systems will be the company's first to support Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART), Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control. The series, developed for professional installers and calibrators, goes on sale in September 2025.
Dirac Live ART, launched in 2023, turns a room's existing loudspeakers into a shared acoustic control network that actively manages low-frequency resonances and improves bass reproduction. The technology is based on Dirac's patented MIMO technology and delivers smoother bass and shorter reverberation even in asymmetric or untreated rooms.
First out is the 16-channel preamplifier Hyperion APR-16, released on 15 September 2025. More models will follow later in the year, including the AV receiver RCV-11 and the digital preamplifier DPR-16.
In addition to ART, Dirac Live Room Correction, which optimises both phase and frequency response, and Dirac Live Bass Control, which uses machine learning to coordinate subwoofers and loudspeakers for even bass throughout the room, are also included.
“Through the collaboration with AudioControl, we can offer professional installers and calibrators a sound quality that was previously only possible in a studio environment,” says Fredric Tapper, Head of Business Development at Dirac.
The Hyperion models are prepared for the full Dirac Live suite and licences can be activated by professional installers. Hyperion APR-16 will be demonstrated at CEDIA Expo 2025 in Denver on 4–6 September at AVPro's stand (#1501).
