Cascade Drives Electric Power Steering for Commercial Vehicles at IAA Transportation Show

Sweden's Cascade Drives is presenting its groundbreaking innovation in electric power steering for heavy vehicles at IAA Transportation in Hanover on 17–22 September – one of the world's most important trade fairs for logistics, transport and commercial vehicles.

The company's TruEPS™ system, based on powerful electromechanical actuators, is developed to replace hydraulic power steering systems and enables efficient single- and multi-axle steering in electric commercial vehicles, particularly class 6 and above. The system is shown with ASIL-D-certified electronics and control from a well-known Tier 1 supplier.

The solution replaces traditional hydraulics with a compact, robust and precise electromechanical steering system that is not degraded by shock loads. At the fair, both front- and rear-axle steering are shown in full by-wire mode, adapted for class 6–10 trucks and ready for level 4 applications. The front-axle solution is shown on an independent front suspension from Italy's BRIST and offers flexible installation for both drag link replacement and centre mounting.

Cascade Drives' technology is also part of a Tier 1 supplier's demo of an e-axle solution for commercial vehicles.
"It is gratifying that a Tier 1 player has chosen to show a solution that includes our electric power steering. It not only reduces environmental impact but also increases efficiency and steering precision," says CEO Kristian Floresjö.

TruEPS™ is shown at stand A01 in hall 12 during IAA Transportation 2024. A press briefing will be held on 16 September at 13:00 in the same place.
