We are pleased to announce that CorPower Ocean is now available to trade on Eqvor's platform.
CorPower is a Swedish cleantech company developing advanced wave power technology, a key to a fully renewable electricity system. By extracting energy from the movements of the sea, CorPower creates steady and predictable electricity production that complements solar and wind power.
With the ambition of becoming wave energy's equivalent of Vestas in wind, the company has its sights set on global expansion.
The technology
CorPower's patented buoy technology is designed to resonate with the waves and maximise electricity production, but it can also be switched off in storms, giving both high output and operational reliability. Tests show up to five times more energy per tonne of equipment compared with earlier technologies.
Business model & commercialisation
After successful full-scale tests off the coast of Portugal, CorPower is now ready for series production of its systems (10–20 MW/farms), with first deliveries planned for 2026.
Market & applications
Wave power can be used for grid electricity, green hydrogen, energy storage and offshore installations, especially in coastal countries with strong wave climates.
Positioning: Global foothold and strategic partners
The company has established operations in Sweden, Portugal, Scotland, Norway and the US, with an industrial hub in Portugal for manufacturing and maintenance. Projects include:
– VianaWave – 30 buoys generating 30 GWh/year
– Saoirse (Ireland) and projects in the UK
– Initiated dialogues with players in Japan and North America
The company has already attracted capital from, among others, NordicNinja VC, SEB Greentech, EIT InnoEnergy, Cisco, Santander and TotalEnergies, and actively collaborates with ABB, SKF, KTH, NTNU and others.
