As of today, shares in Anthropic, the American AI company behind the language model Claude, are available to trade via Eqvor's digital platform.
Demand from Swedish investors for exposure to the most talked-about American unlisted tech companies has never been greater. Companies such as Perplexity, Apptronik, Anduril and Anthropic have in recent years attracted intense interest, while the way in for Swedish savers has in many cases been unclear, expensive or legally uncertain. With today's launch, Eqvor opens a structured, transparent and regulated way into Anthropic.
Anthropic, founded in 2021 by the siblings Dario and Daniela Amodei, has in a short time established itself as one of the central players in artificial intelligence. The company's flagship product Claude is used today by millions of individuals and businesses, and has grown strongly over the past year, partly because established ChatGPT users have started switching to Claude for tasks such as coding, analysis and processing longer documents. According to public reports, Anthropic's ARR amounts to around 30 billion dollars, and the company's valuation places it among the world's most valuable unlisted tech companies.
How a Swedish investor actually gains access to Anthropic
American unlisted companies normally have strict restrictions in their shareholder agreements, which means that foreign investors can rarely appear directly on the company's cap table. The usual way in is via an SPV structure (Special Purpose Vehicle): a legal entity that owns the shares in the target company, in which the investor in turn owns units. It is an established institutional model and in practice the only structured way for a European investor to gain exposure to companies like Anthropic.
At Eqvor, the investment is made via an SPV structure with transparent fee reporting, a regulated counterparty and clear documentation of ownership and exit mechanics.
“We have seen a sharp increase in demand from Swedish investors for exposure to American unlisted companies. Our ambition is to be the obvious place to trade unlisted shares, and today's launch is a natural next step — done transparently and in line with Eqvor's values. This is the first of many launches and improvements we will be rolling out.”
