Stockholm, 28 May – At its Spring Update event, Einride presented several new technical advances across its entire platform for digital, electric and autonomous freight transport. The broadcast showed how the company's data-driven technology ties together software, autonomous driving, charging and electric operation.
Key news
• Vessel-free autonomous SaaS product: Einride Driver – the company's autonomous driving stack – can now be used independently of vehicle type. Drawing on its experience from electric freight, Einride is expanding into new sectors, including defence projects in Europe to reduce the risks to human drivers.
• Industry-first energy reservation: As the first operator, Einride offers the ability to reserve not just a charging spot but the energy itself, which in tests increased utilisation of charging infrastructure by over 50%.
• Expanded Smartcharger network: Seven charging stations are in operation in Sweden and six more are planned by 2026, which will provide over 100 charging points and one of Europe's most advanced charging infrastructures for electric trucks.
• AI planning cuts costs: A study together with Fraunhofer ISI shows that Einride's Planning AI can reduce a fleet's total cost of ownership by 8–13%, compared with around 3% for a simple 1:1 replacement of diesel trucks.
Autonomous and electric transport in focus
Einride also demonstrated its next-generation control tower, where one operator can monitor several autonomous vehicles. The new “vessel-free” SaaS solution makes it possible to use Einride Driver in industries other than freight as well.
Smart charging and efficient operations
The new energy reservation feature is integrated directly into the platform for booking based on the fleet's driving schedule and enables charging during cheaper off-peak hours.
“Today's launches show how we turn groundbreaking technology into real value and make future-proof freight possible,” says Robert Falck, founder and Chairman of the Board.
The study with Fraunhofer will be published in full in June.
