Wesports heading for the stock exchange – halts grey-market trading ahead of listing

The e-commerce group WeSports Group has informed its shareholders that the share register is now being closed, a clear sign that a stock exchange listing is approaching. This is reported by Breakit, which has seen the information in a letter to shareholders. The plan is to list the company on Stockholmsbörsen First North.

WeSports has grown quickly through an aggressive acquisition strategy, with over 40 company acquisitions in online sports retail behind it. The company has previously been led by people with experience from BHG Group, among others.

According to the company's communication:

  • The company will shortly inform shareholders about how the listing itself will take place.
  • Shareholders are asked to contact the company by a specified date if they wish to sell ahead of the listing.
  • After the listing, certain shareholdings may be subject to lock‑up periods (that is, restrictions on selling for a period of time).

WeSports operates in online sports retail and has in recent years made a series of acquisitions to grow. This multifaceted expansion work has created a company well positioned for the next step – from unlisted to listed player.

Via Eqvor, investors have been able to invest in Wesports at an earlier stage, and we now look forward to following the company's upcoming listing.
