Stegra — financing delayed

The steel challenger Stegra has repeatedly said it needed Q1 2026 to secure the billion-krona financing required to build the steelworks in Boden. The quarter has now passed without the company presenting any new money. The financing need has grown from the previously communicated SEK 10 billion to as much as 20 billion in later talks with financiers.

Parallel negotiations are under way in which short-term financing needs to be secured first, as the long-term financing is expected to take longer. CFO Otto Gernandt left his role in February. The situation is strained, and the company's lenders have expressed dissatisfaction with the management.
