First in the world.

Weekly Wrap-Up: First in the world.

Here is the most important news from the unlisted companies listed on Eqvor's platform over the past week.

CorPower Ocean — the world's first certified wave power

CertificationDNV Prototype Certificate — first in the world
Applies toThe C4 unit · standard DNV-SE-0120
Tested forStorm waves of up to 18.5 metres
Review processSeven years

In the company's own words, the certification moves wave power from promising to proven and bankable. A third-party proof that lowers the technical risk and opens the way for project financing ahead of the first industrial wave farms in Portugal and Scotland.

In a capital-intensive field, it is often precisely an independent certification that separates pilot projects from financeable infrastructure. The step to commercial scale remains, and will be decided in the first farms.

The same week, the board was strengthened with two heavyweight names from the energy sector: Catherine Gras, with 25 years of experience at ENGIE and former CEO of Storengy in the United Kingdom and Germany, and Santiago Gil, head of Climate Tech Venture Capital at Santander Alternative Investments.
