Blykalla — Microsoft is to shorten the permitting work with AI
Blykalla is bringing Microsoft's GenAI for Energy Permitting Solution Accelerator and agent-based AI tools into its regulatory work, in Swedish and English. The tools support the work of writing, reviewing and checking permit documentation against regulatory requirements.
The ambition is to move documentation work that is traditionally measured in years to something measured in months. Blykalla's head of AI, Jon Christensen, sets the target at 90 per cent less time and resources. Permitting is under way on two fronts: the applications for two reactor parks in Sweden, and the pre-application dialogue with the US nuclear regulator, the NRC.

Stegra — Google buys environmental certificates for steel from Boden
Google is buying environmental attribute certificates (EACs) linked to Stegra's steel production in Boden. The agreement covers certificates corresponding to up to 91,000 tonnes of steel in the first year, with the ambition of increasing the volume over the term of the agreement. Google uses the certificates to manage emissions from its own steel needs, including in the construction of data centres, while also providing cash flow for Stegra's first year of production.
Three days earlier, Stegra presented its maritime transport partners: ESL Shipping and Royal Wagenborg for the European network, Pangaea Logistics for the iron ore and Clarksons as strategic adviser. This follows the agreements with the ports of Luleå, Skellefteå and Umeå and with Green Cargo for the railway.

Epidemic Sound — scores a new kind of audiobook
The audiobook studio and publisher Lex is making Epidemic Sound its primary music partner and connecting the entire catalogue to its production via Epidemic Sound's API — more than 300,000 tracks and sound effects that may be used commercially. The point is the rights: because Epidemic Sound owns one hundred per cent of its music, Lex can publish every title on Audible, Spotify, Apple Books and Google Play without licensing hassle or takedowns.

Eqvor
The room before the stock exchange — our first physical event
On 10 September we held our first physical event, together with Hubins: an evening about the unlisted market on Strandvägen in Stockholm. Cissi Nilsson interviewed CorPower Ocean's founder and CEO Patrik Möller in a live-recorded episode of Vägen till Exit, followed by a panel discussion with Martin Lindman, CEO of Doktor.se, and Hjalmar Didrikson from Alfvén & Didrikson. Thank you to everyone who came — there will be more.
Vägen till Exit, episode 17: Olov Renberg, BehavioSec
Olov Renberg co-founded BehavioSec in Luleå on the idea that the way we type, move the mouse and hold the phone reveals who we are. The company raised around SEK 250 million from investors including Northzone, Cisco and ABN AMRO before it was acquired by LexisNexis Risk Solutions. In the episode he talks about selling a technology the market did not yet have words for — and about what it is like for early employees and investors to be locked in for more than ten years without the possibility of selling.
